How to Transform Your Wedding with Rentals

Wedding Wednesday

June 24, 2020

Let me say this…rentals such as chairs, tablecloths, and decorations can TRANSFORM your wedding in a way that normally isn’t possible! For our wedding, I had this vision of what I wanted it to be like: very romantic, lots of flowers, and a french-provincial look. Borrow My Vintage helped me make this happen! They are a decor + furniture rental company in the Iowa City area!

Remember that as you’re planning your wedding, you don’t have to BUY everything! First, see what items you can borrow from friends and family! This helped us save a lot, or allowed us to arrange the budget for other things we didn’t think were going to be possible. Once we did that, we made a list of items we wanted to rent; there are obvious ones, such as a tent, guest tables, and chairs, but we were also wanting other things like a dessert table, drink table, seating area furniture, chalkboard sign, foral vases, brass candlesticks, and wine barrels. Macy from BMV had almost everything we were looking for, and it made my dream wedding much more affordable than I originally thought! If we would have had to purchase each of those items ourselves, we may not have even had the wedding we did!

I couldn’t find a rental company in our area with the floral vases I was hoping to find, and after some research, we decided to purchase all the vases online ourselves, then re-sell them to Borrow My Vintage after we were done using them. I am so glad we did this, and it’s something that you could consider doing for a few things you’re wanting too! We were able to make almost all of our money back on them, plus we still had the look we were envisioning! We also purchased a few other things like string lights and cloth napkins; those were items that weren’t too expensive to begin with, and they weren’t hard to re-sell again after the wedding.

Renting items for your wedding can easily change the look of your wedding without you having to pay full price for it – there are many times you’re looking for items that aren’t practical for you to purchase, so renting is oftentimes the best way to go!
